Brian & Derrick are two of the kindest folks I’ve had the pleasure of documenting, and I am absolutely thrilled to be sending their beautiful images out into the world right now. They are such genuine sweethearts, who are deeply in love, and downright giddy for each other. Could a wedding photographer ask for anything more?!
Because they had a smaller wedding, no bridal party, a shorter timeline, and an overall much simpler day than most, I created a custom package for them which included a four hour block of time for their photography. Even though we only had a short amount of time together, it was more than enough to capture their abundant love!
They chose The Mansion on Delaware Avenue for their big day. They got ready together in the same suite, sitting in front of the big bathroom mirror, learning how to tie bowties, and pinning each other’s boutonnieres. There was such sincere joy in every part of this day! Afterwards, the three of us journeyed to Delaware Park for their portraits. The leaves were in their glory, and we lucked out with a gorgeous day for November. We returned to MoDA for their ceremony, with twenty or so of their closet friends and family members. It was so sweet, and their touching vows had us ALL tearing up. I’ve ended this post some of Brian’s vows, which I found particularly moving.
Scroll down to see it all, and I hope you enjoy reliving their day as much as I enjoyed capturing it!
“We walk in the footsteps of our friends, families, loved ones. We also walk in the footsteps of those who dreamed and fought for the day where love is central to justice and dignity. I affirm both the tradition and its evolution today. My promise to you is that each day we will honor our foundations by crafting a life that honors the dignity and value of each other, those we love, and pay it forward for a better tomorrow.”
